Man, my DS that has been collecting dust is now getting some strange looks from me. Seemingly out of the blue, there are now THREE titles that I'm wanting badly for that console. they are...

(1) The World Ends With You, which has it's own thread here.

(2) Rondo of Swords, which seems to be a truly unique and challenging SRPG, way beyond Advance Wars, FF Tactics, etc.

(3) Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer. A tough as shyt JRPG that has, as a game play element, the seemingly uncool fact that if you die in battle, it's Game Over, meaning you start from the beginning. Except... you can go online and get resurrected with all your stats, etc.!

All three of these titles are getting top reviews around the web. When it rains it pours.

I'm pretty stoked about the upcoming FF Tactics A2. I know there are many who snubbed FFTA as highly inferior to the Ps1/PsP FFT, but I have to admit that I liked the GBA one better, if only perhaps because it was my first experience of the game. I actually liked the judges, and I liked the tone and style of the game. My biggest dissapointment with the DS sequel is that it apparently doesn't incorporate the touch controls that I envisioned for this series way back when the DS hardware was first unveiled.

I'm also a complete addict of the game Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, and the upcoming sequel is a must buy for me. Have you seen the sequel? The grid layout is interesting, in that you can complete chains not just horizontally and vertically, but also diagonally.

You got the PsP version of the first one, now that I think about it. Right? Because I don't care about the graphics or sound in this game because its essentially Bejewelled with those cool RPG and story elements, I prefer the DS because I have that system with me more, and touch control is ideal for it.

what I like about the PSP version of Puzzle Quest is that you can have multiple characters with different development paths (with different magic affinities). I've not seen anything about version 2, but i'd probably get it for the PSP as well. It's a display thing. And speaking of puzzle games, you owe it to yourself to get Puzzle Guzzle, if you can find it.

I had FF tactics for the GBA, and I enjoyed it a lot. My fav strat game for that console was Tactics Ogre, tho.

I've always been biased towards handheld gaming, tho lately the Dynasty/Gundam game for the PS3 has been eating up my time. That's an oddity, too, as the game is button mashing mental pablum. Mostly I've been doing PS2 games on the PS3, they look so sweet upscaled.

Is Rondo of Swords out already? I was waiting for that title.

And don't diss Gundam Musou or Domon Kasshu will finger you.
