Well the Oreos and the Brewhahas are off to a good start. Tigers and Twinkies not so much.

Bah, the Twins aren't going to do jack this year anyway. They're right where they should be: on the road to mediocrity. They lost Johan Santana and Torii Hunter - are you kidding me?! After that horrible off-season I have to wonder if RBH still counts himself a fan?

Torii Hunter: I love him; I hate him. I love him because... well because I respect him; he's awesome. But I hate him because I like Curtis Granderson more. Torii is the only thing standing in the way of Granderson winning a gold glove and being the starting centerfielder for the American League All-Star team.

The Tigers... they win a couple of games and people are starting to say, 'See I told you; here they come'. Gimme a break. Oh yeah, I was one of the many who thought they were going to win it all this year, but I guess I was also one of the many who overestimated their pitching staff. Pitching wins championships, not hitting. And besides all that, who have the Tigers beaten?! The Rangers?! If/When they beat the Angels, Red Sox, and Yankees then I'll say they're coming on - but not before!

Like the Chargers, I'm a Twins fan for life. Especially since I would have turned my back on baseball if they would have folded the Twins (along with the sorry Expos/Nationals franchise) early this decade.

I will feel good if we finished around .500 for the season. Yeah, we lost Hunter (one of my favorite players) and Santana (best pitcher in baseball #2 is Webb of the Diamondbacks #3 Smoltz of the Braves), but I'm still a huge fan. I understand why Santana left, though. He was worth way more than we could afford, and he has a better chance at the postseason with the Mets than he would have with the Twins at this point in time. Same with Hunter, though I read before last year he wanted to sign a long term deal to stay in Minnesota. He shook off those injury prone years and had two strong back to back offensive seasons. Defensively, he's always a gold glover. You're right, Glock, losing those two did make for a horrible offseason, but we'll bounce back. Maybe not this year, though.

I hope Livan Hernandez can pitch well throughout the year and Boof Bonser can be more than a mediocre pitcher. Some of the young guys need to step up on the mound as well. I'm concerned about Francisco Liriano. He's been getting beatdown everytime he's on the mound. I hope it's jus trust from not pitching for 1 1/2 years and he wasn't rushed back too soon. A win or two should boost his confidence. I still consider him the ace of the squad, though he is struggling a lot.

Offensively, it will be all on Cuddyer, Mauer, and Morneau. So far, Morneau has come through, but we need to make sure that Mauer can bat everyday, which may mean some DH time so that he can rest his knees from catching so much. I hope Delmon Young steps up for us, and that someone else comes out of nowhere to either have some good power numbers or hits for a high average and scores a lot of runs. I really want another big bat in the lineup. OF Adam Dunn has always been one that I wanted to see in a "TC" hat, but Cincinnati always ask for too much for him.

The Orioles will come back to Earth by the end of May. They suck, and they will remember they do. I actually want to see the Brewers in the playoffs in the NL, along with Atlanta, Arizona, and Chicago. The Mets and Phillies will have something to say about the Braves being in it, though. In the AL, I want to see Minnesota, LA Angels, Yankees, and Detroit. Unfortunately, Boston will knock Minnesota and everyone else out of any wildcard hopes. Something has to change in the AL. I'm tired of seeing the same teams being shown on tv through the season, then the same teams in the playoffs.

My Twins are hovering around .500, but more under than over. I wasn't expecting playoffs, but it would be nice if we can stay around 5 games over .500. We also need another power bat. Adam Dunn is a player I wanted on the Twins for a good while, but I always hear that the Cincinnati Reds' GM asks too much for him.

Is it too early to talk NFL?

No, it's not. Heck did we ever stop? I know that sore-winner DT hasn't. :p

And with that: The (NY Football) Giants suck! They just released The Pillsbury Throw Boy! WTF?! I hate the Giants.

Giants cut Big boy and kept the gloved one, David Carr. Big mistake. Carr sucks. I had to watch highlights of him (and see him on tv) all last season when he was a Panther, and it was aggravating that he has all that talent, and can't even play.

The Sporting News has the Chargers beating Dallas in the Super Bowl. I don't agree with that one bit......there's no way the Cowgirls are going to win a playoff game. I'd give the NY G-Women a better chance to get back to defend their title, even though they suck :D

Sore WINNER my A$$ I'm a prideful CHAMP!!!!!!!!!!!! The Hate that the Champs are receiving from you bums is wonderful. I mean you guys aren't even throwing stones at the throne you're kicking pebbles at us!

On the other hand I'm going to miss the big guy. Like Jim Rome says he's the best short yardage QB in history. Let's pray that Eli has that ole Manning resilence and something else that family doesn't have. The uncanny ability to be superhumanly Clutch!

You guys need to thank the Giants for even keeping this baseball thread going!

Clutch? Yeah, right. Two lucky passes. I notice you don't mention that Eli could have been picked off 4 times during that drive, and should have been twice, including one that Asanti Samuel let go through his hands.

The defense was great. That's what really won the game for the G-Women, especially that front like. Too bad the Boston College DE had to miss it. Mathias K...something. I don't want to botch his name, but he's probably my favorite player on that AVERAGE team :D

I still have this Super Bowl on VHS (old school). I watched Alicia Keys perform (fine as hell), Jordan Sparks sing the National Anthem (ditto), saw Paula Abdul lip sinc to something, and watched The G-Girls get lucky.

Don't worry, Thumbs. I like New England even less than I do the G-Infants. In 2008, it's all about the Chargers and Panthers (sorry Five and Glock, they beat the Packers in the playoffs).

We just signed CC today but I'm sure you heard that already. Folks around here are convinced this will put the Brewers in the playoffs but after watching my home town team choke the last half of the previous couple seasons I'm not going to wave that flag until it's actually happening. I am excited by this trade however as we've really needed pitching help. Time to beat down those Cubs.

How are your teams doing and do you have any playoff predictions after seeing a good couple months of baseball?

Before tonights game vs the BoSox, I believe my Twins were 50-38 or 52-38. That's where I want them to be, so many games above .500. Now, I have to get greedy and root for them to get in the playoffs. It's going to be a tough task, with Boston and NY eyeing the wildcard spot and the ChiSox playing well. We have more of a chance of catching Chicago for the AL Central title than Boston for a Wildcard place.

We still need another power hitter, and also need LHP Francisco Lirano to get right.

If we were in the NL East or West, we would be leading those divisions.

I'm glad Milwaukee got CC instead of Boston and NY. I was tired of those two being the only ones to afford a blockbuster deal. I did read something that annoys me in baseball about the Brewers: Small market team not able to afford their stars. It was an article on Foxsports, and it talked about a possibility of trading Prince Fielder and JJ Hardy for prospects because they are cheaper. Same thing happened in March with Minnesota and Johan Santana. Baseball needs a better revenue sharing system, like the one the NFL uses.

Speaking of NFL, there's a rumor about Brett Farve coming to Carolina to play. They need to stop it, and let Farve be retired w/o throwing his name everywhere.

Damn Twins. I don't know how they do it. We are clearly the better team. And yet we cannot beat them. For some odd reason the Tigers always seem to have problems with the Twins and Royals.

Don't know if the Tigers will make the playoffs or not. Actually, the only two teams that I'm sure that will are the Red Sox and Angels; everybody else is questionable. Everybody.

Detroit's the better team? Suuuuuure. I actually want Detroit to win, but not at Minnesota's expense. It woudl be nice if both of them got hot and get into the postseason. I like Jim Leyland as a manager. I remember when he had those Pittsburgh teams near the top of the standings every year. Van Slyke, Bonds, Bonilla, Bream, Drabek....

Being on the East Coast, I don't hear anything about the Angels. I wouldn't even hear about the Twinkies if they weren't my team.

My Twins exceeded my expectations this year. I wanted them to finish near .500, but they are going to be above it. For a team with a young rotation and no slugger to protect perennial MVP Justin Morneau, they have played great in 2008. Unfortunately, it's over. I don't think we are going to catch the White Sox and their 2 1/2 game lead for the AL Central title, and there's no way we are going to catch the BoSox and their 7 game lead in the wildcard race. We (Twins) have lost too many games this month vs crappy teams. Teams we should have at least won 2 out of 3. Oh, well, I'm happy with the season, and hopefully my team gets to spend some $$ this off-season and get another power hitter.

Once Carlos Quentin went down, I thought my Twins would have a great shot of catching up. We just keep losing games, though.

Whoever ends up playing Boston, I hope they beat the BoSox. I cannot stand that team.

What ya'll know about the Dodger show.

If Joe Torre wasn't there, the Dodgers would be in last place. I like the Diamondbacks more, but I want to see Torre in the playoffs while the Yankees watch from the couch.
