I can't get into Zelda PH(same goes for TP, though), but from what others have said, it's really good.

I would recommend some Metroid Prime Pinball. I played that game for mad hours when I had it. Also, if you're a fan, there are 2 Castlevania games that are top-notch, and if you get a DS before the new redesign, you can play all the older GBA games. New Super Mario is also a great game, and one of the better Mario games. Hell, it's the first true 2-D Mario since World. Ninja Gaiden DS.

And I've always thought about getting a Pokemon game, but there are so many out there, I really don't know which one to get or what are the differences.

Sounds like good questions for Gadfly to answer. Zelda... Advance Wars... Animal Crossing... Harvest Moon... yep; that's right up Gadfly's alley.

I doesn't sound like you and I share much as far as tastes in videogames go, but I'll still list out what I personally think are the best games... and I'll also tell you that I think the system is worth owning. Yes, even if you already have a PSP.

My favorite DS Games:
Etrian Odyssey - Old school dungeon crawler. Very hard. And very long.

Orcs & Elves - I refer you to the DS General Discussion thread, where I recently posted my "mini review". Note too: I liked the game so much that a couple of days after I finished it I downloaded Doom RPG for my cell phone.

TouchMaster - Bar games in your pocket. (Or in your bed.) 'Nuff said.

Clubhouse Games - TouchMaster and CG are very similar, and between the two I like TM a little better... but I have great memories of my time with CG. And heck, still have a good time with it.

Metroid Prime Pinball - If you like Metroid and you like pinball then this is a no-brainer. I like pinball. Metroid... not so much. But I still like this game. Enough that I might still recommend it to someone who didn't even like either.

Feel The Magic XX/XY and The Rub Rabbits - Good games; a good experience. And because you should be able to find both for really really really cheap by now I recommend them.

You want tho hear something weird? I've been thinking about getting one too. I would have taken the plunge already on one of the Diamond/Pearl games, but in reading the reviews it sounds like they're no different than any other Pokemon game - going all the way back to the first on the GameBoy. So I think I'll wait until the next Pokemon games come out, and hopefully then the devs will do right by the DS.

The new Ninja Gaiden DS is really cool. I'm normally a Zelda nut, but I the only thing that hung me up about the otherwise excellent Phantom Hourglass is that there is one dungeon they make you go through several times (as your hourglass powers up for longer periods of time, you get to go deeper into this one dungeon with each subsequent hourglass upgrade, but you still have to start from the beginning each time.) There are other dungeons too, but I didn't finish it.

Mario Kart is really sweet.
Metroid Pinball is one of my favorite games ever.
Advance Wars Days of Ruin is a great strategy game.
So many cool puzzle games. Meteos rules, for one.
Club House Games is the ultimate casual game.
New Super Mario Bros is a must play for 2-d platformer fans.
People speak highly of both Castlevania games; I did play most of the first one and liked it, but I'm not a fan of the series.

There are more but I gotta go. . . work calls.
