Per Hop, from over at GameZone: (http://www.gamezone.com/top10/remakes.htm)
Countdown:
10. Tomb Raider Anniversary (Multi)
09. Conker Live & Reloaded (Xbox)
08. Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions (PSP)
07. Prince of Persia Classic (XBLA)
06. Mega Man Powered Up (PSP)
05. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (GC)
04. Final Fantasy III (NDS)
03. Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles (PSP)
02. Ninja Gaiden Sigma (PS3)
01. Resident Evil (GC)
The only one of those I played was Conker's. And I thought the original N64 game was better. They changed too much in the remake.
I always wanted to play Tomb Raider Anniversary. But the price was always wrong. And now the game has disappeared off shelves.
Hmmm... curious that he doesn't list RE4 Wii-make.

I agree with the #1 spot. I never played the original PS1 game, but I can't imagine it being any better than the GC version. Given that it was based on the gameplay mechanics of a game that came out in 1996, it's extremely surprising how fun the game was. Plus it has replayability out the wazoo. Seriously good game.
I wish they'd remake the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2. I don't think I'd be able to play them with their old-ass graphics. Plus it would be a way for them to make more Metal Gear games even though the story ends with MGS4.

I don't think that TR Anni is really based off of the old gameplay mechanics. I think they used the system that they created for Legend, and re-adjusted the geometry, or something like that. EDIT - Sorry, I didn't realise you were talking about REmake. Still though, REmake added a few things to the gamplay, like instant reverse direction, and quick attack when you get grabbed by the ghouly. Plus the extra area with the creepy girl. I agree that it has been the best remake so far.
I think Sigma should be much lower on the list, since it isn't even better than Black on the Xbox.
Hey Glock, you can always DL Anniversary off of Marketplace, I think it was there, but you'll also need Legend.

I disagree about NG Black being better than Sigma. The Rachel additions (though few) makes Sigma better than Black, IMO. Other than that, I felt the games were pretty much the same.
TR Anniversary, 360 edition is off store shelves? I see it at my local TRU and Circuit City all the time. Not sure about Target or Best Buy.
Anniversary is a good remake, but it's too long, IMO. MGS: Twin Snakes and NG Sigma would also be on my list as well.
Mega Man: Powered Up? Never heard of it. Which Mega Man is this a remake of? I've been looking for a decent MM game for the handheld, but have been relegated to the new crap that's been out.

Mega Man 1. The hardest of any Mega Man games, and one of the hardest games ever period.

Why do you people enjoy playing hard games? If a game kicks my ass, I kick ass in return. As in smashing things around me. Frustration != fun for me.

Oh hell no.

Say, you guys have played the latest Tomb Raiders and Uncharted right? How do you rank them; how does Uncharted compare or hold up?

LOL, that was really funny.
When I complete a hard game, it's almost like a weight lifting off of my chest. It's like the moment that you realise/feel you're not sick anymore after a long bout with a cold.
In a lot of cases, I won't bother to beat a difficult game if i don't really, really like it. I never get the kick-ass rage though. The most i've ever done is yell into my pillow after losing in an online Burnout race, or something like that. Oh yeah, I used to get really frustrated in Gears of War online. Host advantage sucks the hard one.
Oh hell no. Yeah, I just saw your Booo post towards Sony and their DLable Echochrome.
Say, you guys have played the latest Tomb Raiders and Uncharted right? How do you rank them; how does Uncharted compare or hold up? I only played Legend, and only played the demo of Uncharted, but based off of that, I like Uncharted all kinds more. The gunplay was way more satisfying, and so was the little amount of platforming I did.

Tomb Raider Legend and/or Anniversary vs Uncharted:
Uncharted definitely has the TR games in terms of graphics. Uncharted is definitely a current gen game, where TR is in between this gen and last gen (Legend looks better than Anniversary). As far as combat, Uncharted has them beat. The shooting is fun, and would be better if I didn't get low on ammo a lot. There's some melee combat in there as well, and I think a stealth kill move if you can sneak up on an enemy. Tomb Raider's combat is decent, but definitely not the strongest part of the game. Platforming and puzzles, the TR games has Uncharted beat. Uncharted barely has puzzles in the game, and the main character (Nathan Drake, I think) looks goofy when he jumps. Lara is pretty stiff as far as her animations, due to the game being not quite current gen, but the upcoming Tomb Raider Underworld should solve that problem. Anniversary has way more puzzles than Legend, and honestly Anniversary doesn't even feel like a remake of the first Tomb Raider. It feels like a brand new game, IMO.
I started Anniversary before I got Uncharted, but beat Uncharted before I jumped back on Anniversary and eventually finished that game.
I don't recommend games much (hardly ever), but if you do get a PS3, Glock, I would recommend getting Uncharted. The demo on PSN will not do the full game justice, but it will at least give you an idea of what to expect.

Uncharted really through me off on how much of a shooter the game is. Really would you compare Gears of War to Tomb Raider? Then you shouldn't compare Uncharted to it. Uncharted is a third person shooter while TR is an adventure game. The have the same atmospheric asiatic but that's about it.

I wouldn't even compare Gears of War to Uncharted. I think, either in the demo or early in the full version, Uncharted gave me the impression that it was an action/adventure game, with a much better aiming system. It is more of an action game with some platforming elements, and maybe a puzzle or two.
