Which console do you think has the best over-all developers behind them producing mass games? Or do you think some developers share game development but favor a certain console to make games for than another... I think the PS2 has the best developers but some are branching away and going towards the X-Box so I would appreciate to hear your thoughts so I could understand this topic more....

I don't really think any other DeVs come CLOSE to Team Ninja, Bungie, ID, and Rockstar.

Team Ninja's highly overrated.
As for system with best overall developers behind it, I'd go with PS2.

That's an interesting question. Technically speaking I like Konami, Capcom, Bioware, SquareEnix and Naughty Dog. I also like Gamearts and Altus for their RPGs. But overall I'd have to say the PS2.

What a cookie cutter defensive reaction from an X-bot.

Speaking of overrated, Capcom wins that crown by a country mile this year. Aside form Viewtiful Joe, has any single company put out more mediocre pap than this company in 2003. Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot, my bad, you're a crapcom, excuse me, pardon me, er.. capcom fan. What were you mumbling about Tean Ninja again? :p

Oooh, more defensiveness.
Capcom's having an off period, that's all. All companies go through it at some point. As for other then Viewtiful Joe, they also put Capcom vs. SNK 2 online this year. You know, what every X-bot was crowing about earlier this year as the biggest innovation in fighting games since DOA3.
Even if Itagaki gets it right with Ninja Gaiden, I have a hard time seeing it beating the replay value of V-Joe. Currently, still trying to beat V-rated and unlock Alastor.

an "off" period? You're being mighty lenient on them...out of the last 50 or so Capcom games released recently, maybe 3 are worth a buy and you're lucky Im giving you 3.

PS2- Insomniac, Rockstar, Naughty Dog, Polyphonic? (the makes of Gran Turismo), Konami (MGS & Castlevania)
Xbox- Bungie, Bioware, Rare, Team Ninja
Nintendo- Retro Studios, Silicon Knights
By my mini-list, I would have to say PS2 has the best. The devs know how to get a lot out of that machine.
There's a lot I didn't list because they either make mainly multiplatform games, or they have fallen off, IMO.

Go back one year and you've got Maximo, RE0 and hell I'll even toss in Steel Battalion.
All their current troubles started late last year when they lost some of their real estate holdings. It is still my belief that this coupled with several stupid moves like assigning a completely different development team to Devil May Cry 2 caused this current illusion of a Capcom on a downward spiral. If Hideki Kamiya hadn't been committed to Viewtiful Joe and had teamed up with Shinji Mikami to work on Devil May Cry 2, it would have easily been as good as the original game and that would have shut the lot of you up. A lot of the fault also lies in the fact that Capcom shunted those two men off to Production Studio 4 and had them work on GC games exclusively. This should change with Devil May Cry 3 though as rumors have Shinji Mikami returning to take charge of that project. Hopefully Hideki Kamiya will return with him because this man can make one effin game as evidenced by V-Joe.

I doubt that, considering I wasn't too thrilled about the first Devil May Cry. It was decent, but I felt it was a little overhyped and it tried too hard to be "cool". I enjoyed the first few levels of DMC2, mainly because of the better design in Dante's demon alter ego, and the fact that they shut Dante the hell up. He was so cheesy with those one-liners in the first game.
Regardless of if DMC 2 ended up being a good game, it still wouldn't have changed my opinion of Capcom. The main games I wanted turned out to be big disappointments, along with a few games they cancelled.

Which main Capcom games turned out to be dissapointments for you? For me, this whole year, I can only think of DMC2 and PN03. After that; I wasn't interested in Auto Modellista to begin with and I already had three different versions of CvS2.
Right now, Viewtiful Joe has lived up to my expectations and I'm waiting on Gotcha Force to see how it shapes up.

Dino Crisis 3 and P.N. 03 were the main disappointments for me, especially DC3. I was waiting for that game ever since I heard about Xbox getting the exclusives for it and after I finished DC2. I thought it was starting to get away from the RE franchise and making a name for themselves as more of an action-type of game than survivor horror. The amount of time Capcom had to work on the game makes me feel it should have turned out to be better.
P.N. 03 had so much potential, considering the lead character. I wonder if apcom will use her in another title, but with more substance....
I wasn't interested in Auto Modellista either. I thought it was kind of a bad idea, considering Capcom hasn't been known to be strong in racing games.
Dead Phoenix and Red Dead Revolver were the two games I was disappointed that they cancelled, even though Angel Studios was working on RDR. I did like Maximo, and will probably check out the next one when it is released.
Did you play any of the 2 Mega Man games that came out?

I'm curious to see if Blizzard is going to make a dent in console owners minds with Ghost. We'll see.

I'm gonna go with Xbox, because one of the reasons why Xbox is concidered a "graphical powerhouse", regardless of how out dated it's Hardware is, compared to a state-of-the-art PC, is the developers, they use alot of Xbox's capabilties to a good extent, obviously not on all games, but to name a few, Halo,DOA 3,Splinter Cell,DOAXBV,KOTOR had some pretty breathtaking moments, ones that you'd expect to see on an Xbox, GTA pack,Ninja Gaiden, I can't name anymore off the top on my head, feel free to add some if you wish.

There are som uber teams producing games for Xbox- Ion Storm, BioWare, Bungie, Lionhead, Microsoft Game Studios, Rare, Team Ninja, Sega, id Software, Bizarre Creations, Ubi Soft, From Software, and etc.
I'd say PS2 has good support (better than GameCube, but not as good as Xbox)- Square is the biggest developer for PS2 IMO, and you know you won't be seeing anything from Sqaure on Xbox, but I can't say the same for GCN.
Metal Gear Solid and Grand Theft Auto are the biggest franchises Sony has besides FF, and both are on Xbox or GCN in some fashion- Substance on Xbox, Twin Snakes on GCN, and of course the much-improved GTA Double Pack for Xbox.

I hope so. I wouldn't mind seeing more console games from Blizzard after Ghost. I know I will be picking it up.

Never got into the DC series to warrant giving DC3 much attention. I downloaded a few vids and the gameplay didn't grab me. PN03's did and it did turn out to be the better game but it wasn't that much better. I'll have to disagree about the character for PN03 because she's just not unique. It's like everytime you turn around these days, there's another diminutive female character that can kick ass. I'm getting sick and tired of it. At least give them some personality and a love interest that isn't a dork.
Dead Phoenix may not be cancelled as one of Capcom's producers has said that they are considering the gameplay engine for some other game.

Add the girl from Rogue Ops to the list of diminutive female characters that can kick ass. Of course, Lara Croft is the Queen of that category.
Wasn't Dead Phoenix's game engine based on free-flying, instead of the rail-based engine that was in Panzer Dragoon?

It certainly looked like free flying from the only video it had. Capcom was promising a gigantic sky-world to explore in the game and I liked that concept. Hopefully, the engine for the game isn't dead.
Oh and from the previous post, the only recent Megaman game I've played was Network Transmission on GC. It was hard at the start but got easier as you went on.

I think I became interested in Dead Phoenix a week before it was cancelled. I have a feeling that it would have played better than PD: Orta, because of the free flying. Too bad it was cancelled instead of P.N. 03.
