RE4 at 23?! This game would be #1 on the GameCube list.(!) Does that mean PS2 > GC? Oh I think that's exactly what it means! Actually, I think it's more like the PS2 is > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > than GC!

Continuing:
22. Odin Sphere
21. Shadow of the Colossus
20. Street Fighter Anniversary Collection
19. Amplitude
18. Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence
17. Katamari Damacy
16. Twisted Metal Black

Sly Cooper was a great game. Sucker Punch practically reinvented the platform genre and almost nobody noticed. I'd go along with about half of that list. The other half would be filled with my eccentric stuff that's probably not on anyone else's list. 'Cept maybe Mochan.

Yeah; okay, Mr. The Thing-has-great-AI.

Well I'd be interested in seeing that list. Er, well, half of it anyway. :p

Hey man don't get antsy with me 'cause you had problems with your squad. :p

I'm really lazy when it comes to making these kinds of lists, but I only have to come up with 12-13 games. So ok I'll take a whack at it.

I love lists, and wish more would be put up in SW. I would leave them, for sure. Like the one you did before, Glock? The Pepsi vs Coke list deal? That was cool. No one inputs when they're in Gen Disc.

Top 25 is hard though. That's a lot of games. Of course, there were a jillion games on the PS2 anyways, so what's the problem? Nothing.

*thinks about list for 15 minutes*

Damn, maybe I will just post my faves, but not in any order. It's still gonna kick my ass.

Ico
Shadow of the Colossus
Devil May Cry 3
Metal Gear Solid 3
God of War 2
Space Channel 5 Special Edition
Frequency
Silent Hill 2
Twisted Metal Black
MTV Music Generator 2
Final Fantasy X
Tekken Tag
Gradius V
Contra: Shattered Soldier
Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal
Fatal Frame
Bully
Guitar Hero
ATV Offroad Fury 2
Castlevania Lament of Innocence
Okami
Maximo: Ghost to Glory

That's really all that I can think of. 21. Most of my multi-plats were played on the Xbox or GCN, so I can't put them on this list, even if they would be higher up than most, like SH4, Killer 7, Viewtiful Joe, and Beyond Good & Evil.

I may be able to pick 10 or 15 total. I'll give it a try and post it soon.

Yeah, I can't do a Top 25...

...Not for the PS2. I haven't even played 25 games - let alone finished 25 games.

I... OMG IS THAT AD ANNOYING. HEY JACKASSREWARDSDOTCOM: #@$% OFF AND DIE, EH; YOU SUCK!

Uhh, sorry about that; where was I?

Oh yeah, I can do a Top 10 tho'.

But from now on I'm only doing games that I've either finished, or am completely "done" with (two different things btw). That's why you're not going to see Disgaea, or Xenosaga, or I-Ninja on this list. Too many recently finished games of mine have ended on a different note than what they started on. Some finished better... but most, it seems, finished worst. But either way it seems like most of them have been veritable rollercoaster rides. And I've learned my lesson: Best wait to get all the facts before making any judgements and/or declarations. The lesson was so tough, that I'm even reluctant to do "first impressions" anymore.

Anywho:

01. Ico
02t. Champions of Norrath
02t. Culdcept
04t. Rygar
04t. God of War
06. Jak & Daxter
07. Need For Speed Underground
08. Tiger Woods '04
09. Resident Evil 4
10. Neo Contra

I'll update this as I finish more. Next up: I might try my hand at Odin Sphere again; or maybe I'll try to finish I-Ninja; or... I've even half a brain to play Shadow of the Colossus. We'll see,,,

Ah nuts; I wish I would have looked at CK's list a little closer - he's reminded me of a few other games that I played. And it turns out that I have played over 25 games.

I'm still keeping my list to 10 tho'. The other games... I really didn't care for. Well, most of them I didn't anyway.

The Dis-honorable Mentions - aka the games that I told to 'gtfoh; I'm done with you': Amplitude; Sly Cooper; Metal Gear Caca 3; Devil May Cry; Space Channel 5; Maximo; Tribes; Ace Combat 4; The Red Star; and Ratchet & Clank.

The Tweeners - games that I'm "done" with - tho' they really weren't that bad... Still, not worth listing... 'Cept maybe Hot Shots Golf 3... and Splashdown: Rides Gone Wild - if I did a Top 12 then they would make the list: Hot Shots Golf 3; Splashdown: Rides Gone Wild; Katamari Damacy; SSX 3; and whichever ATV Offroad Fury it was that came packed with the system

And then there's Time Crisis 3. A game which I used to love. But now I think I hate. Last time I played it I almost broke shift. I should probably be "done" with this one too... but... we'll see...

And that, I believe, is everything. (Not including demos; or cousins' or friends' games.)

D'oh! You listed SIX games out of eight on my likey list.

If I were to make an HM group, it would definitely include Amplitude, and Maximo, and with the exception of Tribes and Sly, the others are on my main list, except DMC. I only played the demo of Red Star, but I thought it was cool as hell how it was hack and slash and shmup action.

So Unlucky, why the beef with Amplitude? Is it the music selection? Did you ever play Frequency? It was more electronic-oriented. I can understand why people wouldn't dig on SC5. Too girly, plus Space Michael. What about R&C, though? The first was nothing special, but the others definitely picked up the pace.

What about Contra: Shattered Soldier? ver play that one? I found Neo to be a bit boring, but maybe playing it reminded me of the old PS1 Contra games that were trash. Hell, there was one that "played" in 3-D.

1) So Unlucky, why the beef with Amplitude? Is it the music selection? Did you ever play Frequency? It was more electronic-oriented.

2) I can understand why people wouldn't dig on SC5. Too girly, plus Space Michael.

3) What about R&C, though? The first was nothing special, but the others definitely picked up the pace.

4) What about Contra: Shattered Soldier? ver play that one? I found Neo to be a bit boring, but maybe playing it reminded me of the old PS1 Contra games that were trash. Hell, there was one that "played" in 3-D.

1) I played the one with the orange box art. You know I love electronica and techno... but I can't remember what the music was like in the game. I only played it for a little while. We've been over this before; I hate rhythm and timing games: they fracking lie.(!) So the game pissed me off real quick. It's amazing that I dig Guitar Hero. But then again I'm only playing it on "Easy".

2) SC5 had two knocks against it. It not only was a rhythm and timing game, but it was also... [**looks around**] ...queer.

3) The back-n-forth mission structure really started to irk me. And I essentially, ultimately told R&C to frack off. I don't care if the other one's are better; if I didn't finish the first game in the series then I'm not going to play the sequels.

4) I heard Shattered Soldier was a biznatch. I like the Contra games... but I suck at them. I can't beat them by myself. Neo Contra, on the other hand, was easy. It was also ridiculously short. Barely worth a rental even. However, the opening cinematic was AWESOME - an all-time favorite - and I'd say it was worth renting just for that alone.

And... Neo Contra was 3D, wasn't it?

Looks 3D to me. (?)

Otherwise, sorry for thumbing my nose at your games. But then again, we both know that our tastes are quite different from one another's.
