Ok, we give up. The rumors were true.

Persona 3 FES is coming to North America!

Months of trying to keep FES a secret are now behind us (which means all of us here can reflect on just how futile an effort that was).
So what's the big deal about Persona 3 FES? "FES" is short for "Festival," and in Japan, FES was released as a reward for gamers who picked up the original. Not only does the new FES content enhance the original game, but the new FES component is actually a game in and of itself, accessible right from the get-go. We think of it as two games on one disc. It is the definitive Persona 3 experience.

We will be releasing the stand-alone version of FES. There was of course the option of just releasing the "Append" disc (which would have required ownership of the original game), but in the end, we didn't want you to have to own anything else to enjoy the experience.

We'll have a ton more updates going out for FES soon, telling you about the extra features, content, and modes for you to enjoy. Thanks for being patient. We're glad you stuck around.

Oh, and we decided to set the suggested retail for FES at $29.99, just for the heck of it. Thanks for continuing to support us, Atlus Faithful!

Yeah it's too bad the licensing issues they have with that series. We shoulda had SRW a long time ago on consoles.

Square, Working Designs and Gamearts have all been my favorite dev or publishing house at one time or another but Atlus certainly has been the most consistent for me over the last 8 years.

OG Generations wouldn't have licensing problems, though. OG Generations features fully original Bandai characters so they wouldn't have any licensing problems -- that's why we got SRW OG 1 and 2 on the GBA ported to English by Atlus.

Now I am waiting for Atlus to release OGG which is for the PS2 -- I appreciated the effort for the GBA games but I never liked playing the Gameboy SRW games, a huge part of the game are the voiceovers and the GBA versions just don't have voice overs.

I hope Atlus releases OGG in English but keeps the original voices though, it would be a crying shame to dub it in English.

Yep, but I meant the other games in the series like Alpha for the Dreamcast that had the Neon Genesis characters in it. That's one of my favorite animes ever. I made all kinds of offerings on the videogame gods to get that game for the DC here, but I didn't know the licensing among the different manga and animes were an issue back then.

I hope Atlus steps up and releases the Alpha series. The Alpha series has the best storyline out of all of the SRWs in my opinion, release the whole trilogy plus Gaiden it would be awesome.

But I would also like to see MX ported over; SRW MX had a lot of great series in it like G-Gundam, Dendo and Daimos, the Martial Arts SR Triumvirate!

Well my fingers are crossed. I never picked up the GBA versions 'cause I was always willing to hold out for the console experience. But after this thread I may break down though. My DS isn't seeing much action these days anyway.

Yeah handheld version of the game is crap, I mean the resultant product is so neutered I can't even get into it. You really need the voice overs for this game!

The Japanese get it in July so we won't see it til '09 probably. Same high school theme, though I don't think they shoot themselves in the head. There is a new weather system though.
