I just got my copy of Top Spin from EB, Wow!!! This game is the best and IGN says "it's the best Tennis game ever...and any XBOX gamer should own this game".
Take it from me, I don't like tennis in real life, but this is now my favorite XBOX game. The best part of course is that you and your friend can go online and play! Woo Hoo! Look for me! Allisen1987 online! The graphics are spectacular, I'm always Anna Kournikova, she kicks rear online! I'm not very good, but the game is easy enough for anyone to play and tough enough for the gamers that want a good challenge. There are a lot of shots you can pull off with all the buttons and the graphics are silky smoothie! I can't say enough, buy this game, don't delay! Kisses and hugs.

I just bought Desert Storm and Dungeons and Dragons last month, I just bought Crimson Skies last week, I'll be buying Rainbow6 today, I still need to rent Freedom Fighters and a whole bunch of other games. I really want TopSpin, especially for the online component. But I think I'm going to have to wait, forget the money aspect, I just don't have the time.
I hear there are only 16 real players, is this true, also the venues aren't real, no Wimbledon, US Open, etc. is this also true. If so, that will be a minor distraction for me, but in the end only the competition matters. Hopefully the game will be pretty simple to pick, but like MotoGP2 hard to master rewarding players who put in the practice and time with the game.

Read the IGN review. I think that there are 32 total players, and the venues are definately not real but you can tell where you are playing---British Open, Paris Open etc.etc. The game sounds like Virtua Tennis on steroids.

There seems to be 32 players as IGN says, there might be more earn later on in your carreer mode. I agree with you guys though, I wish they were actual tennis venues like Wimbledon and US Open, but I'll take real players over that I suppose, other than that, there is nothing not to like! I'll play tonite and give your more info on it tomorrow.

There are only 16 pro players and most are retired including Pete Sampras. Anna is not playing anymore and you won't find any top players like Ivanisavic or Agassi. I like Anna so I'm happy, but don't expect a big list of people you know. I'm a big tennis fanatic and I didn't notice anyone really special. I'm sure there are more players than 16, but they are just made up. That is about the only games big flaw, if you don't care about who the players all, you're going to love it because it's so fun to play.

I just tried the create a player mode. It's like Tiger Woods near to a TEE! you can change everything from their body, hair, chin, eyes, etc, it's very cool to do this as you can put your player online for people to see your creativity! Yet another reason to own. I don't need real players now, I'll create my own professionals with my create a player. The only thing left I dont like is that you can't play the girls against the boys. Kisses.

Huh, I find that to be a little suprising that the game would not allow for mixed-gender games. This is the new milenium ... Xbox Live is a place that males and females can play on ... what gives? Wait till NOW hears about this :-)
So if I had the game and wanted to play against you on Live, you and I would have to purposely pick characters of the same gender, hey? So I wouldn't be able to match my custom-made male character against a female custom-made character on Live?

Forget what I said, you can matup with any gender even if it's online or not! Sorry for the misinfo! I'm still learning the game!

Okay, I love how the game looks, plays etc. But the sound is pretty average. There is no music during gameplay and they for some reason left out custom soundtracks which would have made a fine addition! The music is pretty good on the options screen or what have you, but how kewlies would it be hearing puff daddy during a match on Europe?
While I spent some more time on the create a player mode, it's definitely not as good as Tiger. From the start ,it has you choose between 20 DNA's which determines your players face. Most of the players faces are very similar to the next, yes you can change the skin color and distort cheeks, eyes, jaws, etc, but the DNA faces don't change "too much from the next person" From the start you can't do much for your wardrobe either as you have to earn more accessories in Carreer mode. I'll just have to wait and see how much I can earn as I keep playing.
